Acknowledgement of Country

St. Patrick's School acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work, the Koroitch-gundidj people of the Maar Nation. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to this week’s newsletter.

CLOSURE DAYS NEXT WEEK

Next Monday 12/6 is the King's Birthday Public Holiday and Friday 16/6 is a school closure day as staff are attending professional learning facilitated by Dan Petro, a leader in his field from America.

Dan Petro is a behaviour analyst and a director of Behavioural Resources Australia Pty Ltd where he utilises his extensive professional history of developing positive behaviour support and intervention programs including providing the implementation training.

LEARNING WALK FEEDBACK

Thank you to the families who came along to our Learning Walk on Thursday this week. Learning walks are an opportunity for families to come and engage with the real learning that is happening in our classrooms at St Pat's. I have not had a parent/carer participant leave without a positive experience yet! Feedback from parents at this week's learning walk when asked to finish this sentence was:

Learning as St Pat's is.....

Nurturing

Inclusive

Engaging

Safe

Calm

What great feedback for our school! Be sure to look out for the next opportunity to come along.

CALVES

We are looking for some families to volunteer to feed the calves over the weekends. Starting this weekend. Training and school access is provided. One family per weekend (normally), can be a team effort. Feeding is twice a day, morning and afternoon.

We are also looking for any family who has the ability to home and care for the calves over the school holiday break.

If you can help with either of these roles please email/call Nick at school to let me know what you can help out with. principal@spkoroit.catholic.edu.au or 5565 8208

SCHOOL SHOES

As we approach school holidays, a time when school shoes are often replaced, a reminder that ALL BLACK school shoes are required every day, except physical education day (Wednesday). School uniform and Activewear require students to wear all black shoes. All black runners and black school shoes are both acceptable on these days, not coloured runners. See the examples below.

Kind regards,

Nick Murrell

Principal

Calves!

Congratulations - Sports today

Congratulations to our soccer and netball teams for representing our school today. Special thanks to David Watson for coaching the soccer and Kate Dobson (Ellie) for coaching the netball. Both teams represented St Pat's with fairness, competitiveness and respect. Well done!

Our netball team has advanced to the next round, winning all their games. This round will be in Colac next Friday 16/6. This is a school closure day. We will be sending communication to families to see if they will be attending the round in Colac and if they are able to, or need support, to take their child to the event. Transport will be in vehicles and not a bus. Mrs Swarbrick will be attending the day. Please have a think about this over the weekend. You will hear from us Tuesday. Go St Pat’s!!!!!

WANTED! Saints Jumpers

Do you have a mini Saints jumper in the cupboard?
Rapid growth of the Koroit Football Netball Club’s Under 10s football program means we have more participants than we do jumpers!
But ordering new club jumpers is at least a six-week turnaround 😳.
So we were wondering if anyone had some jumpers at home they would be willing to either donate or lend to our U10 Saints so they don’t have to share their guernseys from qtr to qtr each week.
We know there were also Club jumpers worn during the interrupted COVID years that were never collected when the 2020 & 2021 seasons were cut short.
So if you, or someone you know has a size 8, 10 or 12 Saints guernsey or two, we would love to take care of it for the next few weeks.
We will have a tub at the door of the change rooms from 4pm this Thursday for you to leave the jumper in.
If you want it back at season’s end, we totally understand - please just attach either a note with a safety pin and your name & ph number OR put the jumper in a plastic bag with your details either inside or written on the outside.
Our superstar Under 10 footballers thank you in advance!
GO SAINTS! ♥️🤍🖤
