Acknowledgement of Country

St. Patrick's School acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work, the Koroitch-gundidj people of the Maar Nation. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

Community Conversation

Monday July 24th we are conducting a Community Conversation, with the facilitation of Mr Tony Dalton, the focus question is What's worth Learning?

We are seeking to understand the priorities, hopes, wishes and aspirations of families for their children’s learning and for their own connection to that and to the school.

This event is a Consultation in which we will begin with an outline of annual plans for improving the school to be followed by participants contributing in small groups with their thinking and ideas about key questions. See the flyer below outlining the event on more detail. All are welcome and I invite you to RSVP via this link.

Mobile phones and smart watches

Please see below, a copy of our school mobile phone and smart device guidelines.  When reading the guidelines a mobile phone is a telephone or any device with access to a cellular (telecommunication) system, with or without a physical connection to a network.

Mobile phones and smartwatches with cellular connection are not permitted at school during school hours and are required to be handed into the school office during the school day.

Hands on Learning Donut Drive

Our Hands on Learning team, in conjunction with Merri River School are running a doughnut drive at the beginning of term 3.  The doughnuts will be available to order on CDF Pay from Monday July 10th until July 17th with delivery July 18th, they will be $1.00 each. Funds raised will be split between our Hands on Learning program and Merri River School. I have had a sampler, and they are delicious!!

Kind regards,

Nick Murrell

Principal

School Fees

Each year our school receives approximately 85% of funding toward the overall cost of running our school for the year from the Federal and State Governments. Consequently, our school community is required to raise the remaining 15% each year to provide the tuition, programs and resources our children need to ensure the best education. This 15% is raised through School Fees, Student Levies, donations and fundraising.

Currently, for this period in time, we have a substantial amount of outstanding school fees, we understand that there is still half of the school year to go, however, if you could give this some thought it would be appreciated. If you have any outstanding school fees it would be appreciated if you could attend to these in the near future. If you have any questions please contact Bronie or Nick and be assured of respect and total confidentiality. No child will be restricted in accessing a quality Catholic Education at St Patrick’s because of prohibitive school fees.

First Eucharist Sacrament

Registrations are now open for students who wish to participate in the First Eucharist Sacramental Program. This program is supported by the school and run by the Parish.

There will be a formation information session to be held on Wednesday 19th July (Week 2) at 4.00 pm in Room 1. Please bring your child to this formation session along with a special object that holds a memory or story for your family. It could be a gift from Baptism or a teddy bear from birth.

If you would like to register your child for this sacrament and can make it to the formation information session on Wednesday, please let me know via email tmcdonald@spkoroit.catholic.edu.au

The celebration of the sacrament will be held on Sunday 20th August at 9.00 am at Infant Jesus Church.

Thank you for your support - Catering Team

Catering was provided for another funeral during the school holidays - many thanks to those who gave up time in their break, when things can be even more hectic at home, to assist.
