Acknowledgement of Country
St. Patrick's School acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work, the Koroitch-gundidj people of the Maar Nation. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
Community Conversation
Monday July 24th we are conducting a Community Conversation, with the facilitation of Mr Tony Dalton, the focus question is What's worth Learning?
We are seeking to understand the priorities, hopes, wishes and aspirations of families for their children’s learning and for their own connection to that and to the school.
This event is a Consultation in which we will begin with an outline of annual plans for improving the school to be followed by participants contributing in small groups. their thinking and ideas about key questions. See the flyer below outlining the event on more detail. All are welcome and I invite you to RSVP via this link.
Learning Letters
Learning letters are now published and available on SZApp by clicking the Learning Letters tile. These letters provide important information about what is happening in your child’s classroom for the term ahead and key dates. Importantly, they each list the learning content that your child/ren will be covering this term.
Or use the link in SZapp.
Spelling and Homework - This term also includes information to all parents regarding spelling and homework and our school's approach to learning spelling. Please take some time to read this. See the information below.
One Day Studios - Mabel and Switch
On Monday this week we were lucky enough to have Gareth Colliton from One Day Studios in Warrnambool come and present to our whole school about a recent video their production company has released called Mabel and Switch. One Day Studios is a social enterprise in the historical Fletcher Jones Factory in Warrnambool. They provide employment pathways for digital creatives in the Great South Coast region by delivering educational and skill-building opportunities to young people, and introducing them to people who work within the creative industries. If your child has expressed an interest in this area as a result of the visit, please see the links below for more information and ways in which primary students can get involved.

School Fees
Each year our school receives approximately 85% of funding toward the overall cost of running our school for the year from the Federal and State Governments. Consequently, our school community is required to raise the remaining 15% each year to provide the tuition, programs and resources our children need to ensure the best education. This 15% is raised through School Fees, Student Levies, donations and fundraising.
Currently, for this period in time, we have a substantial amount of outstanding school fees, we understand that there is still half of the school year to go, however, if you could give this some thought it would be appreciated. If you have any outstanding school fees it would be appreciated if you could attend to these in the near future. If you have any questions please contact Bronie or Nick and be assured of respect and total confidentiality. No child will be restricted in accessing a quality Catholic Education at St Patrick’s because of prohibitive school fees.
Book Fair
Our annual Book Fair opens Monday.
The books will be on display in the school hall. Students will have an opportunity to preview the book fair and write their wish list during school on Monday. If you wish to make a purchase, this can be done before or after school during the week.
EFTPOS will be available.

This was a great success and wonderful for our school to be able to support the fundraising efforts of the Merri River School, with the bonus of eating delicious donuts!
Canteen Updates
Thanks for working with us during out IT issues for today's lunch orders - we got there and everyone was fed! Thanks also to McMahon's Family Catering for coping with the delay in our order submission. The process for payment for orders submitted via the form will be arranged next week.
This hiccup came on a very busy day in our canteen where we had a visit from the Health Inspector - many thanks to Tammy and Ash for meeting with the inspector.
Due to the reduced availability of volunteers on a Wednesday, there will be no regular Wednesday canteen for the remainder of the year. We will have a couple of days where we have a special offering (eg. Dim Sims, Party Pies, Sausage Rolls) each term, the dates of which will be advised via SZApp and the newsletter.
