Acknowledgement of Country
St. Patrick's School acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work, the Koroitch-gundidj people of the Maar Nation. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
A Prayer for First Eucharist Candidates
Jesus,
Through the Eucharist, we recognise you, we remember you and we become one with you.
In the coming weeks of preparation, we pray that these children also know you in the breaking of the bread and the sharing of the cup.
We pray that sharing at your table enables them to lead Eucharistic lives in which they work for unity and peace in our community and our world.
We ask God’s richest blessings on them as they journey with you.
Amen
Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
School Blessing/opening
Next Friday August 11th at 12.30pm, will be the official opening of our most recent school building project. Bishop Paul Bird will be blessing the buildings. There will be an official ceremony held in the school Library / Room 1 & 2 area. All school families who would like to attend are welcome. Blessing of the Infant Jesus parish centre will take place on the same day at 2.15pm, all welcome.
Year 3/4 Camp
Next week is the Year 3/4 school camp at Camp Kangaroobie. The students will be on camp on Monday 7th and Tuesday 8th August. Mrs Swarbrick and Mr Murrell are attending, with Mrs.Griffin stepping in for Mr Murrell on the morning of Monday 7th. The students will enjoy activities such as a stop over at Port Campbell, a visit to the 12 Apostles and 5 BIG activities at camp including: Obstacle Course, Kagaroobie Survivor, Night walk, Game of Life or Death and Hut building. It will be an awesome time for all!
Insight SRC Newsletter
Last week, families received a letter with a unique password and username. This survey only takes about 10 mins to complete.
This survey data is really taken very seriously by our staff, particularly the leadership team. Along with PAT, NAPLAN and the Enhancing Catholic School Identity survey the Insight data provides feedback to us in our progress in working towards our school improvement objectives i.e. Wellbeing, Teaching and Learning and Catholic School Culture.
Please take the time to complete it as the more families that complete the survey, the more accurate our data will be. Thanks in advance.
NAPLAN Results
NAPLAN results have been posted to parents of Grade 3 and 5 students this week. In looking at NAPLAN results, it is important to keep in mind that NAPLAN is just one test. Children change and develop rapidly and a single test cannot possibly assess all of their abilities. A variety of factors can affect how well your child does on any test, including their motivation, attention, mood and physical well being. If you would like to discuss your child's results, please contact the classroom teacher via ClassDojo to arrange an appropriate time.
Have a great weekend,
Kind regards,
Nick Murrell

Grade 3 & 4 Hooptime
On Tuesday, our Grade 3/4 students competed at the Moyne Junior Hooptime Competition.
We had three teams participating; All Star Girls, Future Stars and a Rookies team. Our All Star Girls team won all their games including their final and will now go through to the next round of Hooptime which will be at Hamilton on the 24th of October. The Future Stars won two games and finished 5th overall and the Rookies team finished undefeated from the games they played.
The students behaviour throughout the day was fantastic as was their sportsmanship and encouragement towards each other and their opponents. A massive thank you to all the parents who coached, scored and supported throughout the day. We will now turn our attention to the Senior Hooptime which will be on the 15th of August.
School Fees
Each year our school receives approximately 85% of funding toward the overall cost of running our school for the year from the Federal and State Governments. Consequently, our school community is required to raise the remaining 15% each year to provide the tuition, programs and resources our children need to ensure the best education. This 15% is raised through School Fees, Student Levies, donations and fundraising.
Currently, for this period in time, we have a substantial amount of outstanding school fees, we understand that there is still half of the school year to go, however, if you could give this some thought it would be appreciated. If you have any outstanding school fees it would be appreciated if you could attend to these in the near future. If you have any questions please contact Bronie or Nick and be assured of respect and total confidentiality. No child will be restricted in accessing a quality Catholic Education at St Patrick’s because of prohibitive school fees.

Our Foundation students have had a super day celebrating 100 Days of School and being 100 Days Brighter today. Their Grade 6 buddies prepared a fantastic assembly acknowledging their achievements over this time. This followed a morning with lots of learning around the theme of "100" and a HUGE celebrations morning tea!
Thanks to Beau and Tighe for collating the below profile of all our Foundation students.
