Acknowledgement of Country
St. Patrick's School acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work, the Koroitch-gundidj people of the Maar Nation. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
A Prayer for First Eucharist Candidates
Jesus,
Through the Eucharist, we recognise you, we remember you and we become one with you.
In the coming weeks of preparation, we pray that these children also know you in the breaking of the bread and the sharing of the cup.
We pray that sharing at your table enables them to lead Eucharistic lives in which they work for unity and peace in our community and our world.
We ask God’s richest blessings on them as they journey with you.
Amen

We had the honour and pleasure of hosting the official party including: Bishop Paul Bird, Megan Ioannou Deputy Director - Stewardship, CEB, Terry Harney - DOBCEL board member, Fr. John Fitzgerald - DOBCEL board member and Moderator of Star of the Sea Parish, Tim Perks - Associate Architect, Morton and Co, Michelle Lowry - Architect, Morton and Co, Lee Schlooz - Education Consultant Southern Zone, Emma Arthur - School Advisory Council Chair, Fr. Bill van de Camp - Infant Jesus Parish priest (retired), Fr. William Lowry - Assistant Priest of Star of the Sea Parish, Fr. Our school community led by our school leaders and Year 6s did an amazing job welcoming and leading our guests in celebration. I thank Ms. Tegan McDonald for her organisation and preparation for the event. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to this very special day.
Have a great weekend,
Kind regards,

Book Week 2023 - Week 7
On Thursday, August 24 (Week 7) the staff and students at St Patricks will celebrate Book Week. Everyone is encouraged to dress up as their favourite story book character on this day. We will have a parade of all the amazing costumes at 9:05am in the Hall and then the students will return to their classrooms and participate in different Book Week activities. Visitors are most welcome to come along to the parade and then visit the students in their classrooms to see all of the Book Week action.

Canteen News/Toastie Tuesday
Thanks to the P&F for offering the special food day with Dim Sims next Wednesday!
Toastie Tuesday - Tuesday 15th August
Due to the Grade 6 students being away at Hooptime next Tuesday, there will be no "Toastie Tuesday" next week.
Payments for Canteen on Friday 21st July
Emails have been sent for payments owing for canteen on Friday 21st July when there were issues with CDFPay. If families could please pay the amounts owing by cash to the office or deposit as per instructions in the email, that would be great. If you can't locate the email, please contact Kate (kdobson@spkoroit.catholic.edu.au) to have the details reissued. Thank you.
School Closure Days
Please note that there are two school closure days coming up on Thursday August 31st and Friday September 1st. Staff members will be off site on these days working on RE and Literacy planning.
School Fees
Each year our school receives approximately 85% of funding toward the overall cost of running our school for the year from the Federal and State Governments. Consequently, our school community is required to raise the remaining 15% each year to provide the tuition, programs and resources our children need to ensure the best education. This 15% is raised through School Fees, Student Levies, donations and fundraising.
Currently, for this period in time, we have a substantial amount of outstanding school fees, we understand that there is still half of the school year to go, however, if you could give this some thought it would be appreciated. If you have any outstanding school fees it would be appreciated if you could attend to these in the near future. If you have any questions please contact Bronie or Nick and be assured of respect and total confidentiality. No child will be restricted in accessing a quality Catholic Education at St Patrick’s because of prohibitive school fees.

retired; married or single; in same-sex relationships; and can own or rent their
home. The most essential criteria are that they care, can provide a safe and
nurturing home, and have room in their home to support a vulnerable child or
sibling group.
