Acknowledgement of Country
St. Patrick's School acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work, the Koroitch-gundidj people of the Maar Nation. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
Principal's Message
Dear parents and carers,
Remembrance Day
Tomorrow we have some of our school leaders representing our school at the local Koroit Remembrance Day service. Thank you to our school leaders Jaxon and Addy. Please feel free to head along and support this community event.
Free to a good home
This Monday 13th November we are clearing out some unused furniture from the school. Items include: student desks, chairs, filing cabinets, shelving - various sizes and other miscellaneous items.
If you are interested in any of this, please come to school between 10.30-11.30am, the items will be next to the Art Room, enter from Anzac Ave. There will be no holds, all items need to be gone on the day. All items will be free. Friends of St Pat's are also welcome.

Good luck to all sporting event participants next week. We have over 50 students representing our school in the Moyne schools Try-athlon and our 5/6 girls basketball team representing the school at the regional Hooptime finals in Hamilton. Go St Pat’s!
Koroit Carols
Our Christmas Choir has commenced practicing for the 2023 Koroit Carols. If your child has told you they are practicing and wants to be part of this please keep Sunday December 10th 3-5pm free. We thank Miss Monique Brown for again leading our choir for this great community event. Comment end
Meetings next week
All are welcome to the P&F AGM this coming Wednesday evening at school. 7.30pm Wednesday 15th Nov. Please come along. Our School Advisory Council will also be meeting this week too.
Principal Handover
This Thursday 16th November myself and Ms McDonald will be commencing 2024 handover processes. We will be working offsite for the day.

Proposed Japan trip in 2024
The Warrnambool Catholic Schools Network is having an Information Meeting regarding a proposed Japan Trip for students in 2024. This meeting is open to staff and families from network schools who have an interest, and would like to know more about the trip.
When: Wednesday 22nd November 4pm - 5pm
Where: St. Joseph's Primary School, 70 Botanic Rd, Warrnambool (enter via reception)
What: The aim of this meeting is to present information regarding the proposed Japan Trip for students in September 2024. (Year 6 students, and the possibility of Year 5 students - TBC)
Information on pricing is currently being gathered and will be available at the meeting.

COVID-19 update
We are aware of instances of COVID-19 presenting again in our local community.
It is recommended that you should isolate for at least 5 days and until you don’t have symptoms anymore. This means you should not go to work, school or grocery shopping, especially if you work with people at a higher risk of becoming very sick with COVID-19. (Source: Vic.Gov.au Coronavirus)

Lost Property
Are you missing any uniform items? There are particularly a lot of jumpers in our Lost Property basket (or overflowing from it!).
If you could please remember also to label your uniform items so your uniforms don't end up here!
School Fees/Volunteer Levy
Current Statements have been sent home this week. If you have assisted with an event but are yet to claim a deduction to your Volunteer Levy, please see the office to complete a form. Volunteer Levy deductions for 2023 must be recieved by the last week in Novemeber.
For those with. outstanding account balances, we would appreciate if you could please make arrangements at your earliest convenience. If you are having difficulty with your account, do not hesitate to speak confidentially with me to discuss payment options.

Room 1
Lenny Stonehouse for communicating his ideas and showing respect for other students’ ideas and opinions in whole class discussions. Lenny, you consistently show maturity in your engagement with your peers and have been a wonderful leader in Room 1. Well done!
Billy Martin for showing great enthusiasm for reading independently. Your confidence with using your reading strategies is improving. It was wonderful to see you practising reading your decodable and heart words with determination – keep up the fantastic work Billy!
Room 2
Harper Cuomo for consistently being a respectful, responsible and safe member of Room 2. Harper, you are a fantastic role model for your peers by always engaging in learning enthusiastically and being a kind friend to all! Well done Harper!
Isla Lilley for her super effort in spelling this week. You are always so focused during our spelling sessions and always try your best! Keep up the great work Isla!
Room 4
Savannah Wood for showing such courage in swimming yesterday. I am very proud of how you are challenging yourself and learning the skills of swimming and being safe in the water. Your determination is amazing! Well Done!
Hudson Smits for the wonderful work ethic you have towards your school work. Hudson you challenge yourself to complete your work to a very good standard and love achieving success, particularly in Mathletics, where you have achieved a GOLD certificate. Congratulations!
Neve Harlock for being a very responsible class member this week, showing kindness, patience and thoughtfulness towards her peers. Neve, these qualities and your leadership skills are always appreciated in our class. Thank you.
Xander Perry for persisting with some challenging work tasks this week and achieving success. Keep up the growth mindset Xander and you will master anything which you set your mind to. You should feel proud of your efforts. Well done!
Room 5
Mazie Fechete for the fantastic effort she has made this week in mathematics. Mazie you have demonstrated focus, motivation and a willingness to do your personal best. Keep up the amazing work.
Logan Harlock for the positive and enthusiastic attitude he has displayed this week towards his learning. Logan, you bring energy to our classroom that helps motivate us all! Keep it up.
Room 7
Beau Porter for the incredible work ethic and standard of work presentation you have displayed this year. You are always thoughtful and very detailed when completing tasks. Another excellent example of this is your poster demonstrating your understanding of Pope Francis’ ‘Laudato Si’- Care for our Common Home. Thanks for being fantastic in our class Beau!
Addy Fechete for being a responsible and reliable class helper this year and someone who contributes to our class through discussions and activities. Thanks for all of your work Addy.
