Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
Project Compassion
On Tuesday our students participated in “Dress as your Hero” day as part of this year’s Project Compassion fundraiser. This is a way that our school community contributes, through Caritas Australia, to people who are less fortunate than ourselves. This year the students have learnt about some children in Bangladesh who project compassion are supporting. Here is a short video that many students have watched in class recently This year we raised $244 to contribute project compassion, a fantastic achievement! Congratulations.
SWPBS feedback
We are extremely proud of our students for their response to our SWPBS program launch this term. The concept has been embraced by, students, teachers, LSOs, administration and our parents and carers. It has been amazing to hear us all using the common language of Respect, Responsibility and Safety. A truly amazing achievement and we look forward to taking this even further in the terms and years to come.
Easter Raffle
Today we drew our Easter Raffle at assembly. The raffle was coordinated by Mrs Kim Hedger. Kim does a sensational job preparing this each year and was this year very proud to announce that we raised in excess of $600! We thank the St Pat’s and the wider community for supporting this event and congratulate our lucky winners.
The prize winners were:
1st The Hand family
2nd Ella Lumsden
3rd Angela Andriessen
4th Amber Hallowell

PEACE LOVE RESPECT AWARD: Beau Porter
Beau Porter for demonstrating respectful, responsible and safe behaviour at school. Beau regularly collects sports equipment left out during before school play, recess and lunch. His responsible and respectful behaviour ensures our sports equipment is looked after so it can be enjoyed by everyone. This behaviour also keeps everyone safe so they don’t trip over sports equipment left lying around. Congratulations Beau.
Room 3: Hudson Smits for the way he demonstrates responsible behaviour inside the classroom and outside in the yard. He helps others to get back on track to complete their best work and will always lend a helping hand when needed. Well done Hudson!
Charlotte Wright for the respectful way she shows initiative in her learning space. She is organised and always keeps her space clean and tidy. Charlotte takes pride in completing her work to a high standard and always tries her best. Keep up the great work Charlotte!
Room 4: Savannah Wood- for being respectful towards all adults and peers, always waiting her turn and not speaking over others. Savannah offers help whenever it is needed both inside and outside the classroom. She uses her initiative and is very thoughtful in the way she treats others. Well done Savannah!
Tayla Milwood-for being a responsible student who strives to do her best at all times. She is keen and eager to learn in the classroom, often sharing her knowledge in group discussions and asking questions to improve her knowledge or when she doesn’t understand something. Tayla is organised in her learning tasks and often helps others. Keep up the great work Tayla!
Room 5: Esther Gleeson for working respectfully and responsibly and acting safely in the classroom for the entire term. Esther, I love the way you have a go at every task and always do your very best. Congratulations.

Parents and Friends Catering:
Recently we have catered for the school staff training day held last week and Tuesday we catered for a partnership with Jersey Australia, Fonterra and Safe Ag Systems for a Safe farming information session, we provided morning tea and lunch (see photos below).
The way catering works is when the P & F have a request for catering, for example a funeral wake, we ask families that have nominated to help with catering to assist with the event, either by providing goods they have stated they can make e.g. sandwiches or purchase grocery eg a packet of party pies, milk or bread etc.
If you have indicated you can help at events you may be asked if you can help with serving or food preparation. If you are on the list and get asked to help you can say no if asked. On average you might be called upon 6 times a year.
Every contribution is claimable from the school levy. If you would like to be involved with helping cater for events the P & F please fill out the form attached or text 0428 466 129. You don’t have to have won a ‘Chef’s Hat Award’ to be part of catering. Catering raises great funds external of the school. So please think about joining the Catering Team.

School Photos 2021
As a school, we are in the process of confirming our school photo provider for 2021 and into the future. For many years our service provider has been MSP Photography's Frank Monger, however, last year we engaged with local photographer Glen Watson of Watson Photography, who was able to carry out our school photos on short notice due to COVID restrictions. I am seeking feedback from any interested parents or carers regarding the service and quality from both providers before we lock in our 2021 school photos. Please call Nick at school or email principal@spkoroit.catholic.edu.au with any feedback you may have. Thank you.
