2021, Term 2, Week 6 Newsletter
Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to this week’s newsletter. I thank our students, families and staff for transitioning into lockdown so smoothly. We have changed the format of the principal's message this week to communicate information that families will need for remote and flexible learning next week.
Remote and Flexible Learning Updates
Learning planners will be posted on Sunday in preparation for remote learning Monday - Thursday. Learning planners will be in year level and all planners will be posted together across our school platforms (SZAPP, ClassDojo and parent/carer email). Within these planners will be the suggested time allocations for each learning task. This is a guide only. Students are asked to make a collection of the work they complete over the four days and bring this to school with them on Friday 4/6. Each classroom will conduct a debrief and provide feedback on this learning in class groups back at school at the completion of the lockdown period.
Communication
Students and families will have the opportunity to meet with their teachers on Monday 31/5 and Wednesday 2/6 via Google meets. We are using Google meets as we now have a large portion of our students using Chromebooks and this is part of our school system.
If you plan on using a mobile device to access these meets please take the time over the weekend to download the Google Meet app. On your device, go to your browser and type in google.meet.com and this will take you to your app store. To join the meetings next week, log in to your child’s school Google email account to find the link. Teachers will also post these links on ClassDojo.
Google Meet Timetable
Room 3: Monday 31/5 at 10am, Wednesday 2/6 at 10am
Room 4: Monday 31/5 at 10.30am, Wednesday 2/6 at 10.30am
Room 5: Monday 31/5 at 9.30am, Wednesday 2/6 at 9.30am
Room 7: Monday 31/5 at 9am, Wednesday 2/6 at 9am
Hall: Monday 31/5 at 11am, Wednesday 2/6 at 11am
Parents and carers will be able to contact their teacher through ClassDojo if there are any other questions or queries that pop up over the four day period. The preferred method of communication for students to contact teachers is using their school Google email account.
Access to school accounts
Parents/Carers please see your personal email inbox for an email from the school that lists your child’s usernames and passwords for their school Google, Mathletics and RAZ Kids accounts. This will be coming out today.
On-site Supervision
Thank you to the families who completed the application for on-site supervision today and next week. All applications have been processed and parents have received an email with arrangements for supervision here at school.
Outside School Hours Care (OSHC)
Outside School Hours Care will continue to be offered during the lockdown period. Please contact Wendy or Rachel on 0447 658 580 to confirm your bookings for next week.
Winter Sports
At this stage, Moyne Winter Sports will be going ahead on Friday 4/6. We will keep families updated if this information changes. Next week there will be a PAM permission note sent out to parents/carers via email for this event.
We wish all families the best as we embark on the remote learning journey again and look forward to welcoming all students back to learning at school on Friday 4/6, next week.
Kind regards,
Nick Murrell
Principal

Room 5:
Anthony Reece - for the respect he showed to the different teachers he had during the week. I received some amazing feedback Anthony and I am really proud of your positive attitude.
Hayden Van Rysingen - for being responsible for his learning. Hayden, I was very impressed with the amount of work you completed during storywriting. Keep up the good work.
Room 7:
Matthew Lenehan - For his responsible commitment to more learning tasks both in and out of the classroom. Matthew is producing a growing amount of completed work that he should be proud of. He is making more efforts to contribute to class discussions and showing his capabilities as a learner.
