Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope everyone has had a wonderful Easter break and is feeling refreshed as we begin this new term. It will be great to have the students back in class, ready to continue their learning. Staff are looking forward to a great term ahead!
Easter Prayer
Loving God,
We thank You for the blessings of Easter,
For the gift of new life and hope.
May we walk in the light of Your love,
Sharing kindness and peace with others.
Help us to grow in faith,
And to live with joy and compassion.
Amen.
This Saturday is the Irish Festival procession, and we would love for your child/children to be part of our award-winning float in the street procession! If you haven’t already, please fill out this form to confirm their participation.
Closure days this week
- Thursday, April 24th: Presentation of the DOBCEL Strategy 2035, titled "Pursuing Fullness of Life for All."
Parent Feedback
Thank you to those who have already filled out the feedback form! If you haven’t yet, please take a few minutes to share your thoughts via the linked feedback form. Your feedback will help us tailor Learning Walks and improve engagement in learning at both school and home.
The form is anonymous and will only take around 5 minutes to complete. We appreciate your input as we continue to work together to support your child’s learning.
Random Acts of Kindness
We are proud to announce that St Pat’s has been officially recognised and certified as a Kindness School by the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation!
Last term, all students and staff made a commitment to live every day with kindness in mind, with the goal of creating a wonderful, kind, and loving school culture. This certification reflects our collective efforts to foster an environment where compassion and respect are at the heart of everything we do.
We look forward to continuing to work together as a school community to build on this foundation and make kindness an integral part of our daily lives. See some ideas are included in the calendar below to complete at home.

This week we are sharing what SWPBS looks like at St Pat's when we are in the Church.
Koroit Irish Festival

It's not too late to volunteer for the St Pat's stall at the Koroit Irish Festival this weekend.
For our Saturday stall, please sign up using this link for a shift on the production line, in the toastie van or as part of the pack up crew - Koroit Irish Festival stall.
At this stage we are particularly looking for workers in the toastie van. Even if you cannot work the full shift, one or two hours would be a great support.
Volunteering at the stall on Saturday will go towards your volunteer levy & you will also be eligible for a wristband for the Saturday of the festival.
Any questions, contact Kate on 0408 399 144.
***Please see information in Principal's column regarding the float.

Concussion – Important information to be aware of
If your child has experienced concussion outside of the school setting it is important that they rest for a period of 24 to 48 hours and then gradually return to activities after this time. Returning to school can be a graduated approach with the aim of increasing tolerance to a full day, the same situation could occur with sporting activities. It is always important to check with your doctor and seek medical treatment after a child sustains a concussion.
It is important to inform the school if your child has sustained a concussion outside of school; this is to ensure the school can monitor your child’s wellbeing and adapt activities as required.
This factsheet link below from the Royal Children’s Hospital is valuable to read and understand.
https://www.rch.org.au/
There is also a great evidence-based app from the Murdoch children’s research institute that walks you through what to do in the result of a concussion.
Wellbeing - Youth Mental Health Roadshow with Dr Michael Carr-Gregg
Dr. Carr-Gregg will cover a range of critical issues facing young people today, empowering parents, carers and other loved ones with the knowledge and tools to help navigate the challenges of parenting. Dr. Carr-Gregg will offer a range of practical and actionable advice that can be implemented immediately to support children and adolescent mental health.
