Principal's Message

Dear parents and carers,
📚 Book Week 2025 📚
This week we are celebrating Book Week! Our Dress Up Day and Parade will be held tomorrow at 9:00am in the hall. We welcome and invite everyone to come along and watch.
The theme this year is ‘Book an Adventure’. We can’t wait to see the creativity and excitement from our students as they bring their favourite characters to life.
3 Way Conversations and Parent Teacher Interviews
Our 3-Way Conversations are coming up this term. We are trialling a new structure where conversations begin during the day to help reduce after school commitments for families and staff, while still having after school appointments available.
If you have a PSG meeting, the 3 way conversations will happen during that scheduled meeting in addition to the PSG meeting. You will not need to attend the below 3 way conversation meetings.
🗓 Dates:
- Monday 8th September from 12:30pm
- Tuesday 9th September from 12:30pm
Some classes will only require one day of interviews depending on student numbers (please see PAM for available times). Teachers who do not have two allocated days of interviews will be assisting with supervision and multi age activities in the hall.
⏱ Format:
- 10 minutes – Student led sharing of learning (3 way conversation).
- 10 minutes – Teacher discussion with parents.
This is a valuable opportunity for students to celebrate their progress and for parents and teachers to come together to support ongoing learning.
These interviews are now available for booking in PAM.
Upcoming events for the week ahead:
- Book Week - Dress Up day Tuesday 19th "Book an Adventure"
- School Closure Days Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd
- First Eucharist - 24th August, 9am St Pius X Church
- 5/6 camp - Melbourne 25th-26th August
- 3/4 camp - Ballarat 3rd-4th September
Kind regards,
Tegan McDonald
Principal
Reflection

Feast of Assumption of Mary, Friday 15th August
Hail, Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
On Friday, students and teachers reflected on the Feast Day of Mary during morning prayer in their classrooms. The day marks the Feast of the Assumption, celebrating Mary being taken into heaven at the end of her life. It is an important day in the Catholic tradition, recognising Mary’s special role in faith and her example of devotion and care, values we can all appreciate and learn from.
Parenting Practitioner sessions
Free Parenting Sessions with Helen Diamond – Don’t Miss Out!
We’re thrilled to be welcoming Helen Diamond, Parenting Practitioner from CatholicCare, to St Patrick’s on 28th August. With nearly three decades of experience, and her own journey as a parent and grandparent, Helen brings warmth, wisdom and practical support to families.
Helen will be offering free one-on-one parenting consultations during her visit. This is a wonderful opportunity to talk through any challenges, ask questions or simply gain new insights to support you on your parenting journey.
Spaces are limited, so be sure to register your interest by emailing Helen directly at helen.diamond@catholiccarevic.org.au. You won’t want to miss this!
School Closure Dates - Term 3

Picnic in the Paddock

Picnic in the Paddock is a major event on the St Pat's calendar and hosts families and friends from all over the south west to come and see our wonderful school and enjoy a really fun day out for everyone. We have a committee who meet twice per term to organise the event. PIP is on Sunday October 26.
We have 2 meetings remaining before the event:

We will be organising sponsorship packs, sampling some new merchandise, and chatting about tasks to be completed before the event. We'd love to see you there!
