Principal's Message

Dear parents and carers,

Welcome to Week 9 - The Final Week!

Week 8 Updates

We’ve received great feedback from teachers about how confidently students shared their learning during 3-way conversations. It’s wonderful to see students taking ownership of their progress. A big thank you to all the parents who joined us—your presence helps celebrate your child’s achievements and strengthens the learning partnership between home and school.

Staff received a lovely surprise from Miss Louden on Thursday afternoon, as she coordinated a whole-school R U OK? Day activity for students. While students were engaged, staff were treated to a cuppa and a chance to connect.

In a small school, where lunchtime and recess often mean many are on duty, it’s rare for so many staff to enjoy relaxed time together. Opportunities like this are invaluable—they help us build stronger relationships and create a culture where we feel comfortable checking in with each other and asking, 'R U OK?'

The Week Ahead

Tonight, our student leaders will take the stage at the Student Leaders Congress Celebration at the Lighthouse Theatre, alongside peers from other local schools. They’ll be sharing both the achievements and challenges they experienced while producing their Learning Lounge podcast.

We’re incredibly proud of their hard work and can’t wait to hear about the inspiring projects from other schools as well. All the best for tonight, girls—we look forward to you sharing your presentation with the wider school community soon!

This Thursday, our Grade 5/6 students will head to the ARC to take part in Hooptime. Parents and family members are very welcome to drop in and cheer them on!

Then on Friday, we wrap up the term with an early 2:30pm finish. It’s also Hot Dog Day and Footy Colours Day, featuring football and netball clinics organised by one of our Grade 5/6 groups as part of their CIC (Crazy Ideas College) project—what a fantastic and fun way to finish the term!

To add to our very busy LAST day of Term 3, we welcome Drew Lane back to launch our school song. Drew will run workshops with students and teachers before his concert at 10.15am. All families are welcome to join us for the concert.

A reminder that Term 4 begins on Tuesday 7th October, as Monday 6th October is a Staff Professional Development Day.

We wish all families a safe and relaxing break, and we look forward to seeing everyone back in Term 4!

Kind regards,

Tegan McDonald

Principal

Prayer

This year’s Season of Creation has as its theme
“Peace with Creation” inspired by the passage from Isaiah 32:14-18:

“My people will abide in a peaceful habitation,
in secure dwelling, in quiet resting places.
For the palace will be forsaken, the populous city deserted;
the hill and the watchtower will become dens forever,
the joy of wild asses, a pasture for flocks;
until a spirit from on high is poured out on us,
and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field,
and the fruitful field is deemed a forest.
Then justice will dwell in the wilderness,
and righteousness abides in the fruitful field.
The effect of righteousness will be peace,
and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust forever.
My people will abide in a peaceful habitation,
in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.”

Picnic in the Paddock

The countdown is on! Further information about Picnic in the Paddock will be available at the beginning of Term 4.
