Principal's Message

Dear parents and carers,
Welcome to Week 2!
Daily gratitude practice - while you might be tempted to ask at the end of a school day, “What went wrong today?”, I encourage you to flip the script. Practicing gratitude daily and focusing on the positive moments each day goes a long way for wellbeing, both for kids and for us adults, too.
Here are some gratitude-based questions you can ask your child after school:
- What’s something you learned today that made you feel proud?
- Who made you smile or laugh today?
- What’s one thing you enjoyed about your maths or reading lesson?
- Was there a moment today when you helped someone, or someone helped you?
- What’s something you’re looking forward to learning tomorrow?
Finding the positives, even on a tough day, helps us all build resilience and a sense of gratitude. Let’s keep celebrating every step forward, big or small. Here’s to another term of learning, laughter and a little more gratitude in every day!
Have a great week 2!
Kind regards,
Tegan McDonald
Principal

Prayer

Luke 17:11–19
On the way to Jerusalem Jesus was going through the region between Samaria and Galilee.
As he entered a village, ten lepers approached him. Keeping their distance, they called out, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” When he saw them, he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were made clean. Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice. He prostrated himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him. And he was a Samaritan. Then Jesus asked, “Were not ten made clean? But the other nine, where are they? Was none of them found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?” Then he said to him, “Get up and go on your way; your faith has made you well.”
Like the man in Luke’s story who came back to thank Jesus, may we always remember to say thank you.
A Prayer of Gratitude
Loving God,
Thank you for the many blessings in our lives —
for our friends, our families,
our teachers, and our school.Help us to be like the one who returned to say thank you,
to notice the good around us
and show gratitude every day.May our thankful hearts bring joy to others
and remind us of Your love and goodness.Amen.
