2021, Term 3, Week 10 Newsletter
Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
I would like to take this opportunity to THANK all of our parents and carers at St Patrick’s for the support, guidance and persistence you have shown in nurturing and educating our children throughout this most recent school term. It seems and feels as though this most recent period of lockdowns and restrictions has had the biggest impact on our collective wellbeing than any period prior to Term 3, 2021. Our whole school staff would like to say thank you for playing perhaps the biggest part in educating our students this term, and due to do this we are shouting everyone a coffee / hot drink at Noodledoof here in Koroit.
To redeem your small token of our appreciation head into Noodledoof provide your family name and have a coffee on us! 2 coffees per family.
Term 4 - Back to school program
We have been informed by Catholic Education Ballarat that this Sunday, Premier Dan Andrews will be providing us with the roadmap for how school operations will look in Term 4. Once this information has been disseminated, we will analyse it and communicate with families how our school program will look in Term 4. We wish we could provide more information, however, it is not available to us at this time. We do know that it has been regularly stated that school we be resuming for all students in Term 4, however, this roadmap is due to be formally announced this coming Sunday.
Employment
As mentioned in a previous communication, we have announced and congratulated Mr. Lloyd on his appointment as Principal at St. Joseph’s Penshurst, commencing in 2022. This vacant position is currently advertised online and will appear in this Saturday’s Warrnambool Standard. We have also previously communicated that Ota Sensai will longer be teaching at St. Patrick’s next year and that an expression of interest for this 2022 position has been advertised among Warrnambool network Catholic Primary schools. I can announce that Emily Dennis will be replacing Ota Sensai as of 2022. Emily is currently teaching Japanese at St Pius X and St John’s and will bring a great deal of experience to the role and we welcome, thank and congratulate Emily on this position commencing in the 2022 school year.
Swimming program
In Term 4 will be running our school swimming program for Years F-5. These lessons will be at Belfast Aquatics in Port Fairy. Students will be bussed to and from Port Fairy each Thursday for the first 8 weeks of Term 4. Coming out today via email is a permission note for families to complete via PAM. The permission note will indicate specific swimming times for each class. There will be more information provided to Year F-5 students in the first week of Term 4. Year 6s are scheduled to complete their open water swimming program in Term 4. We will provide more information about this program as it becomes available. As I am sure you can appreciate, we are planning to run these programs, however, we may be impacted by restrictions outside of our control. As of today, we are able to run both of these programs in accordance with current operating guidelines.
Enjoy a safe and fun holiday break,
Kind regards,
Nick Murrell
