2022, Term 1, Week 2 Newsletter
Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to the 2022 school year. It is with great hope, optimism and enthusiasm that St. Patrick's welcomes you to another school year and the many exciting opportunities it will bring to our students, families, staff and wider community. This week’s newsletter contains important information regarding COVID operating guidelines, school fees and school building implications. Please see the sections below for more information.
This week we welcomed our 2022 Foundation students. They have made a fantastic start to their school life! Also, this week we have commenced using the internal areas of our new school building works. These are certainly invigorating advancements for our school and our students' learning opportunities. It has been an absolute delight to welcome students and staff into these learning and admin areas and it looks sensational too! We ask the community to continue using the Anzac Ave entrance and walk through the Quiet Space (courtyard) to access the school office.
New staff in 2022
We have a number of new staff commencing with us in 2022.
Regina Cassidy (Year 5/6 teacher, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
Kylie Archbold (Year 4/5 teacher, Friday)
Peter Varley (PE and Hands on Learning)
Emily Dennis (Japanese)
Jennifer Quill (Learning Support Officer, Monday)
Monique Brown (Learning Support Officer Trainee)
Ella Lewis (Learning Support Officer Trainee)
We welcome the following staff and look forward to them engaging with our school community and contributing to the education of all our students. See the attached 2022 Staff list for all staff.
In 2022, our learning programs will continue to be accompanied by our School-wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) program. The primary objective of this program is to define, teach and support behaviours that create a positive school environment. Your children will be learning about (or continue to learn about) this framework regularly throughout this year. Please see the flyer attached to this newsletter as it clearly states our school's three main SWPBS objectives: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe.
We wish all our school families a fantastic start to the 2022 school year.
Kind regards,
Nick Murrell

COVID Guidelines
Face Masks - Yr 2-6
Students in Grade 2 and above must wear a face mask indoors at school. Parents and carers are required to send students with a mask each day. Our school ‘spares’ supply of masks is already being quickly depleted. Can you please remember to provide a mask daily.
Coming on the school site
Parents/Carers are required to wear a facemask whenever in the school building. All visitors to school must QR check in and show their vaccination status via the office. The only exception to this is for short visits to the office counter e.g. collecting a sick child, collecting item etc.
Rapid Antigen Testing
Thank you to all families and students for participating in the RAT program. This program is currently running for the first 4 weeks of Term 1. Students and staff are requested to test twice weekly on school days. A positive result must be reported to the school ASAP. Full information about the program is part of this newsletter.
Assemblies
Assembly will not take place during the first four weeks of the year.
School Fees
St Patrick's School is a low fee-paying school. Our global operating budget comprises funding from the Federal and State Governments, School fee collection, and fundraising.School fees are a vital part of providing many aspects of your child's tuition at St Patrick's. The 3 main options for paying your school fees are: Direct Debit, Credit Card (at the school office) and Direct Credit Payments.
Attached to this message (below) is a document with further information regarding these options for the 2022 School Year. It includes the fee schedule, direct debit information (application, dates, and terms and conditions), and direct credit details (Bsb and Acc details).
Please take some time to read this school fee information and decide which option is best for your family. If you have any questions, please contact the school office.
School building implications
While we are lucky to be working out of our new office, unfortunately, we don’t currently have access to the Queen Street Entrance. In the interim, please enter the quiet area via the Anzac Ave gate and use the door on the southwest corner of the courtyard.
