Acknowledgement of Country
St. Patrick's School acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work, the Koroitch-gundidj people of the Maar Nation. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
The Good Samaritan
On Sunday, the Gospel proclaimed was The Good Samaritan. Let us open our hearts to help those who need us, be kind to all even to those who aren’t kind to us and help without expecting something in return.
God of love,
May we always see the world through the eyes of the Good Samaritan and be filled with your deep compassion.
Help us to be merciful neighbours even when it is inconvenient, when we don’t have time, or when we have other responsibilities to attend to.
Grant us the insight to see the need in those around us, the wisdom to know how to respond, and the strength to do so willingly.
We pray for those we might cross the road to avoid - the poor, the vulnerable and the marginalised. Those, who in many and various ways, have been stripped, beaten and left for dead.
We pray for all who call from us more than we feel we have to give.
Open our eyes, that we might not cross the road from human need.
May our love of you and love of our neighbour call us to be people of peace and justice in the world.
And may we, like the Good Samaritan, always ‘go and do likewise’.
Amen
Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
A warm welcome back to school and a very warm welcome to all of our families to Semester 2. It has been great to see the students return this week. I trust you’ve all had a very enjoyable and restful break and are looking forward to the wonderful learning Semester 2 will bring.
During the holidays, our nation celebrated NAIDOC Week - a chance for all Australians to learn more about the oldest, continuous living cultures in the world. The theme for was "Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!" This week at school, students learnt about the history, culture and remarkable contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our Foundation and Year 1 students reinforced our celebrations and learnings with a remarkable assembly showcasing some wonderful Indigenous songs and pieces of work. Well done, it was fantastic to see how much you have learnt!
Building Update
This term the construction of our new basketball and netball court roof will continue. Temporary fencing has been placed around the perimeter of the courts to allow the builders access without impacting on the day to day routines of the students. It will also ensure the safety of all the involved in the school community. It will be exciting to watch the development of the building over the coming weeks.

KFNC Community Round
On Saturday the 6th of August- Koroit Football and Netball Club are hosting a Koroit V's Port Fairy match at Victoria Park, Koroit. Many community groups have been invited to participate in a variety of ways on the day, such as the SES, etc. All local primary schools from Koroit, Port Fairy and Woolsthorpe have been invited. There will be free entry on the day for all- Staff, students and families! As there will be NO reserves match on the day, KFNC volunteers will be running a round robin football competition for any boys and girls who would like to play. We ask that they meet next to the canteen on the day at 12.30pm, where the volunteers will organise the kids into teams. If there are enough kids from each school, we will keep them together in 'school teams'. Kids will just need to wear their footy gear and any top/footy jumper.
Kind regards,
Ms McDonald
