Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
First Eucharist
This weekend on Sunday at 9 am we have a group of students who are celebrating their First Holy Communion. We keep these candidates in our thoughts and prayers and wish them all the best on this very special day. I congratulate these candidates on this auspicious occasion and hope that they feel the warmth and comfort of the Lord’s love with them every day. We thank the candidates and their families for their commitment to the program and sacrament, I look forward to celebrating this with you on Sunday morning.
3 Way Conferences - 7th and 8th September
We are preparing to conduct 3 Way Conferences with Students, Teachers and Parents on Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th of September. Last year we made a change from traditional parent-teacher interviews in response to discussions at a staff level and Community Conversation feedback. The 3-way conversations received excellent feedback from all involved and the process will continue this year. 3 way Conferences involve children sharing samples of work (student and teacher chosen). These can be from their portfolios/workbooks or online. These conferences involve the student, teacher and parent. The students, under teacher supervision, are responsible for leading the conference and sharing their educational journey with their parents and teacher.
Bookings will be made available through PAM next week.
School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS)
Last week our staff participated in an SWPBS refresher professional development. This is part of the process to ensure the continued development of our school’s School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support program. I have included (below) a copy of the SWPBS Matrix we use at school. I encourage parents/carers to take some time to look at this again and if time permits have a discussion with your child/ren about how this works at school. In the near future, we will be providing school families with a Restorative Chat card. This is to share our approach to speaking with students here at school when we find ourselves in a situation where things have gone a little wrong. Look our for this in the coming weeks.
School Closure Day
Next Friday, August 26th is a school closure day. There is no school on this day. Staff will be participating in professional development centred on our school’s writing curriculum and the improvement of our Years F-6 writing scope and sequence for learning. We are working in conjunction with Catholic Education Ballarat Education Officer, Mel Willis.
Kind regards,
Nick Murrell

Head, Heart, Start!
Head, Heart, Start is a program facilitated by Elissa from Moyne Health - This week we explored the elements of healthy relationships and had a fabulous time making friendship soup with the foundation/1 class @Koroit St Pats Primary School. Our wonderful recipe called for kindness, goofiness, having fun, honesty, respect, safety, trust with a couple of teaspoons of sticky conflict and spicy argument to help us grow our emotional intelligence and communication skills. So grateful for these beautifully authentic kids who all brought their gifts to create a very special soup for the soul!
