Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
Fathers in Our Lives
We give our thanks, Creator God, for the fathers in our lives.
Fatherhood does not come with a manual, and reality teaches us that some fathers excel.
We ask for Your blessings for them all and forgiveness where it is needed.
This Father's Day we remember the many sacrifices fathers make for their children and families, and the ways--both big and small--they lift children to achieve dreams thought beyond reach.
So too, we remember all those who have helped fill the void when fathers pass early or are absent; grandfathers and uncles, brothers and cousins, teachers, pastors and coaches and the women of our families.
For those who are fathers, we ask for wisdom and humility in the face of the task of parenting. Give them the strength to do well by their children and by You.
In Your Holy name, O God, we pray.
Amen.
- Rev. Chuck Currie
Father’s Day
This weekend we wish all Father’s and special male persons a Happy Father’s Day! It is a great time to celebrate the amazing contributions your fathers and special people have made in your life. A big thank you to the Parents and Friends and “Oh Fudge Sticks” (Jess Morris, Eleanor’s mum) for the creative and tasty idea to help say thanks to these very special people in our lives. Hopefully, all the treats are consumed with delight on Sunday. Happy Father’s Day!
SWPBS - School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS)
This week families received an information package regarding the Restorative Practice that complement our SWPBS framework. The package included some information regarding SWPBS and some cards that demonstrate how we have conversations with students when things don’t go quite right. When time allows, please take a moment to read through this information. In the coming weeks we will publish our Minors and Majors chart with families in the newsletter. This will hopefully provide some clear information for families about how this process works as well.
3 Way Conferences - 7th and 8th September
We are preparing to conduct 3 Way Conferences with Students, Teachers and Parents on Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th of September. Last year we made a change from traditional parent-teacher interviews in response to discussions at a staff level and Community Conversation feedback. The 3-way conversations received excellent feedback from all involved and the process will continue this year. 3 Way Conferences involve children sharing samples of work (student and teacher chosen). These can be from their portfolios/workbooks or online. These conferences involve the student, teacher and parent. The students, under teacher supervision, are responsible for leading the conference and sharing their educational journey with their parents and teacher.
Bookings are now available through PAM.
Enjoy a great Father’s Day weekend,
Kind regards,
Nick Murrell
