Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
Picnic in the Paddock
Preparations have ramped up this week for the inaugural Picnic in the Paddock this weekend, Sunday October 30th. 11am-3pm.
We would absolutely love it if as many people as possible from our school community could come along and support the day. The event differs from a traditional school fair in that families are asked to come and participate in the day, rather than run a stall. As you have seen in many newsletters there will be something for everyone on the day. Don't forget to pre-purchase your rides wristbands for children. Also, the cake stall would love it if families could provide something as per the information sent home last week. Thanks to the Picnic in the Paddock team for all their hard work so far.
School Fees
Each year our school receives approximately 85% of funding toward the overall cost of running our school for the year from the Federal and State Governments. Consequently, our school community is required to raise the remaining 15% each year to provide the tuition, programs and resources our children need to ensure the best education. This 15% is raised through School Fees, Student Levies, donations and fundraising.
Currently, we have a substantial amount of outstanding school fees for the 2022 school year, we understand that the school year is still yet to conclude, however, we are getting toward the home stretch. If you have any outstanding school fees it would be appreciated if you could attend to these in the near future. If you have any questions please contact Bronie or Nick and be assured of respect and total confidentiality. No child will be restricted in accessing a quality Catholic Education at St Patrick’s because of prohibitive school fees.
100 Lone Pines Program
Next week on Thursday we are due to receive a Lone Pine Tree as part of the 100 Lone Pines Program. The objective of this project is to commemorate the ANZAC spirit and to celebrate the Centenary of the Republic of Turkey. Friends of Gallipoli Inc., a not-for-profit organisation which has the objective of enhancing ties between Australians and Turks, are coordinating the Project. This is an exciting opportunity for St Patrick’s.
Assessment Program
Next week, on Tuesday and Wednesday, we are running an altered learning timetable to allow students and teachers to participate in various learning assessments. This program is running because DOBCEL schools no longer have access to assessment days at the beginning and end of each school year. Students will be doing activities with teachers other than their regular teachers on these two days and be called to complete assessments with their teacher throughout the two days. All students will attend school on these days as per regular school days.
Kind regards,
Nick Murrell
Principal

What does this mean? On a Catastrophic FDR, the school will be closed, along with school bus services. No one will be allowed on site. Such ratings will be declared ahead of the nominated day and we will advise families via the usual channels (SZApp, Class Dojo, e-mail).
