Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
I had two great outings with students this week, firstly to Portland Bay Lodge with our Year 3/4 students - the first true school camp experience for this group. Despite wet and windy conditions, we all had a great time - the tram, the Maritime Discovery Centre, swimming, tenpin bowling, sightseeing and spending time with friends. Although we had some changes to our schedule due to the weather, the students displayed great resilience in working with the changed plans.
My second outing was Wednesday to Warrnambool Foodshare where the Student Leaders and I the delivered the groceries collected in our recent Food Drive - a massive 350kg! The staff at Foodshare were amazed at the generosity of our school and the Koroit community. They had been low in stock in many of the items we had collected and were very appreciative of the help the students gave in sorting the donations during our delivery.
It seems like we only started Term 4 and in the blink of an eye, there is just a few weeks remaining.
There are lots of celebrations planned, starting with the Koroit Irish Festival Carols on Sunday 4th December - a change in location this year to the new stage at the Village Green. Monique has been working with a group of students practicing some Christmas songs. It should be a great afternoon to celebrate the Festive Season with the community.
The following Thursday (December 8th), we have our own Christmas celebration at school with our Fairytale Christmas Concert. The students have been enthusiastically rehearsing during their Performing Arts class and are looking forward to entertaining their families. As a part of this event, students have been invited to design a Gingerbread Man. Further information has been shared on ClassDojo. The P&F are catering a BBQ on the night - please see later in this newsletter for volunteer requests.
The very next day on Friday 9th we have a whole school end of year Mass at 10am. In our final week of school, we will farewell our Year 6 at a Graduation Ceremony on Wednesday evening. Along with that, there will be class "Fun Days" to wrap up the year.
But wait, there's more! There is still the Try-athlon, the F-2 Extended Day & Year 2 Sleepover, Year 5/6 Open Water swimming, Orientation Day and 2023 Foundation transition sessions. Phew!!
Our P&F have their AGM next Wednesday (30th Novemeber in the Staff Room - all are welcome to attend and recognise the achievements of the group this year and commence planning for 2023.
Thanks in advance to our volunteers who are getting up early on Sunday morning to feed the cyclists visiting Koroit on the Great Victorian Bike Ride. Also, if you have some time Saturday afternoon, come and visit our colouring and activity stall at the Koroit Village Green.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Kind regards,
Nick Murrell

Thanks to Nick and Monique for giving their time to support the P & F, it is very much appreciated. Also to our grade 6 students who helped promote, compile playlist and decorate the event we thank you.
