Acknowledgement of Country
St. Patrick's School acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work, the Koroitch-gundidj people of the Maar Nation. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
Lent
On Tuesday we celebrated Shrove Tuesday. Our students completed activites in their classrooms and were treated to some pancakes. Thank you to some of our parent voluteers, Jane Martin, Virginia Martin and Tammy Langdon
On Wednesday it was Ash Wednesday, the start of the season of Lent where we prepare ourselves for Easter. We shared a wonderful celebration with our Parish community at Infant Jesus Church. Our students were so respectful of the occasion and were beautifully behaved. We were so very proud of them.
I have included in this week's newsletter (linked below), a short, easy to watch, 3 minute video that outlines what Lent means for those of Catholic faith.

We will soon be sending home a paper copy of our school yearly planner for all families to assist with planning your 2023 year with school events in mind. Please keep an eye out for this.

Lost Property
There are a LOT of jumpers with no name in the lost property basket (& a couple with names of former students that may have been handed down to your family).
If you are missing a jumper, please check the basket (near the junior readers) - you may recognise your jumper.
To ensure no additional jumpers join the pile, could you please label all jumpers with your child's name.
At the end of this term, we will clear out the current backlog of jumpers.
Cyber Safety user agreement
PLEASE GIVE YOUR CHILD PERMISSION VIA YOUR NEW PAM ACCOUNT.
In accordance with St Patrick's Acceptable Use and Cyber Safety Agreement, it is a requirement for parents/carers to discuss the attached agreement with their child/ren and accept the terms. Cake Raffle
This year, (commencing next week) we will again be having our weekly cake raffle at Assembly on Friday afternoon. Tickets are 20c and available in the classrooms before school on Friday mornings.
If you are happy to be on the "Cake Raffle Roster", please message Kate Dobson (Isla & Jobe) on 0408 399 144.
For those new to the school, the Cake Raffle is just something fun for the kids - the "Cake" does not have to be a cake & it doesn't have to be homemade - slice, biscuits or chocolate would be fine whatever is easiest for you.
Food Bank
Dear Parents/ Carers
For many years St Patrick's School Community has provided a food bank service to those within our school who are going through a difficult time or celebrating the birth of a new family member.
The service is run purely by volunteers providing casseroles (which also can include pasta bakes pies or stir fry just not strictly casseroles) slices, desserts or anything else they are able to supply.
At the beginning of each school year a list of volunteers is gathered, if enough people volunteer you should only be called upon once perhaps twice a year.
