Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
School Sports
Teamwork, Encouragement, Friendship and Fun were quite prominent themes at our Athletics sports day today. The day was an amazing event that was the culmination of a great deal of planning from Mrs. Swarbrick and Mr. Varley. It was extremely pleasing to see students working together as teams and encouraging others. Witnessing the determination and persistence our students displayed as they tried to run their fastest, jump their longest or highest or throw their farthest was inspiring as staff and parents. The Olympic motto of “Citius, Altius, Fortius” (Latin for "faster, higher, stronger") was most definitely lived out on the day, and possibly, one day, there will one day be some Olympic representatives from our talented crop of participants!. Also noted on the day was the incredible work of our volunteers, these parents and friends of St Pats ensured each event ran smoothly and safely, thank you.
Learning Walk
On Tuesday this week we conducted our first learning walk for 2023. Parents and carers from our school took part in the Learning Walk. What is a Learning Walk and what happened?
First we met as a group first and discussed what the parents/carers/visitors wanted to get out of the learning walk. Some of the questions were around our literacy program, multiage classrooms and wellbeing support.
We then visited three classrooms, discussing what we have observed or learnt as we go. We observed a Foundation reading lesson, a Yr 1 fluency lesson and a Yr 6 STEM lesson. The walk then finished with some sharing time and general discussion about what we learnt during the walk. We are yet to find a parent that has not valued the experience. Be sure to keep an eye out for the next opportunity to join a walk, you wont regret it.
Parents who joined us this week finished the sentence “Learning at St. Pat’s is…” Engaged…Fun…Structured…Enjoyable…Focussed.
End of Term
Next week is the end of Term 1. School concludes on Thursday 6th April at 2.30pm. School resumes Wednesday 26th April. (N.B. Monday 24th April is a Closure Day for ReLATE Wellbeing staff training and Tuesday 25th April is ANZAC Day)

Folk Festival
Folk Festival
I would like to thank everyone who has volunteered their time to help either in the tent or to pack up at folkie.
It was one of the busiest folkies in years and our volunteers did an amazing job keeping up with the huge queues especially at brunch and dinner times, we sold out of the daily supplies every day and no leftovers went to waste at the end of the weekend which was fantastic to see.
Over the weekend there was
1850 sausages cooked and slapped in bead
2080 egg and bacon sandwich consumed
1630 burgers flipped
And over 1200 drinks sold
Well done everyone it’s an amazing effort and is definitely not possible without your help.
Thank you to the Sarah Bidmade, Dan and Rachel, Jason and Tara’s dad, Paul and Dobbo for doing a wonderful job packing up the tent on the Monday and shifting everything back to SPPF.
I’d like to personally thank Megan Gleeson for organise our pack up crew and for volunteering to be a team leader, you did a fantastic job, thank you.
I would also like make a special thanks to Mick McGoldrick as this was his last year with us, Mick has been a valuable long-standing folkie volunteer and team leader for many years, he always brings a very fun, positive and supportive attitude which always creates a great atmosphere for anyone working with him, you will definitely be missed next year Mick, thanks heaps.
