Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
Koroit Irish Festival
Catering
With over 600 baked potatoes, 250+ Irish stews and 200+ cheese toasties, our Parents and Friends team had a huge weekend. The popularity of the catering that our school team produces is evident every year as the size of the queues seem to get larger! Thank you to all parents, carers and friends of our school who contributed to making the weekend so successful. Thank you. There are many people, businesses and groups to thank, however, a special thanks to Amy Perry and Tammy Langdon for their coordination of this huge catering event. Also, to Andrew McMahon and McMahon's Family Catering for the Irish stew and David Lane for his annual donation of ALL the potatoes. All major contributors to our fundraising effort will receive a thank you letter from our school.
Procession
Our school group looked amazing in this year's procession. Thank you to all the families who were able to have their child participate. It was an adventurous ride! I would like to thank Tim and Bec van Rysingen for bringing their shiny big tractor, Mick Lane for arranging the trailer and lollies and Mel Lilley for coming up with the idea in the first place. It was a fantastic and fun representation of our school in the festival.
Library Volunteers (Volunteer levy opportunity)
We are missing our beloved Mrs Celina Brown! We are looking for any parent, carer or friend of St Pat's who may be interested in volunteering some time in our library or even from home. If you think you may enjoy spending some time doing library duties such as book returns, returning books to shelves, keeping books in order, covering books (could be done from home) and other library duties, could you please make contact with Nick or Bronie. We can organise some training and opportunities for you to help out and reduce your volunteer levy. A happy library is an ordered library! We thank Monique Brown who has been volunteering some of her time to help out in our library lately.
School Uniform
Transition
This term we have begun our transition to Directwear as our supplier of school uniform. See further in this newsletter for what is now available through Directwear. We will continue to have a sale on on our exisitng stock here at school and as this stock runs out the items will then need to be purchased through Directwear. We thank Dion at Directwear for his support in getting this process under way. The reason for transitioning to Directwear is to ensure that stock is available to our school families in a timely manner, the uniform items are of good quality and it supports our school administration by outsourcing.
Tunics
We currently have families interested in purchasing tunics for their child. Directwear would initially like to place an order with a minimum of 15 tunics, if you are interested in purchasing a tunic ($90), please contact Bronie to express your interest.
Term Learning Letters
Please see below for a Learning Letter from your child's classroom teacher/s providing some information about learning and events in their classroom this term.
